James Michael McAdoo and his wife, Lauren, hope to purchase a house outside Santa Cruz someday. If they had already bought one, McAdoo might be balancing the start of Warriors’ training camp with an evacuation.
“Me and my wife are really plugged in down there,” McAdoo said of Santa Cruz, which is near a fast-moving wildfire. “So with what’s going on down there, that’s just something that’s been heavy on my heart.”
The wildfire burning in the Santa Cruz Mountains reportedly threatens at least 300 structures, and mandatory evacuations have been issued to residents living in the Loma area.
