Warriors face something ‘entirely new’ this year, beginning with Chase Center opener

SAN FRANCISCO — Not much seems very familiar for the Warriors these days, but they will open up a new arena against a familiar face — albeit one they might like to forget.

In Thursday’s game against the Clippers, the Warriors will open the 2019-20 season with the first regular season game at Chase Center.

They will see the jewel of the Clippers’ off-season, Kawhi Leonard, on his new team after he led the Raptors to an NBA Finals win over the Warriors last season. Golden State hopes it can get the better of Leonard, who handed Oracle Arena a loss in the final game in the building that housed the Warriors for 47 years.
