Warriors escape Minnesota with 109-104 win

MINNEAPOLIS - Somehow, the Warriors still haven’t lost back-to-back games all season.

They seemed headed toward another defeat Monday night at the Target Center, on the heels of Saturday night’s loss in San Antonio. But the Warriors made enough key plays down the stretch to escape with a 109-104 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves.

The Warriors (63-7) now lead the Spurs by four games in the race for the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference playoffs, with 12 left. Golden State must win 10 of those 12 games to break the NBA single-season record of 72 victories, set by the Chicago Bulls in 1995-96.
