Warriors’ Draymond Green to sit out Monday against the Hawks

ORLANDO — Warriors forward Draymond Green will not play in Monday’s game against the Hawks in Atlanta, coach Steve Kerr said after Sunday’s loss to the Orlando Magic.

Green, who is still dealing with the lingering effects of a right heel injury that recently sidelined him for three games, is experiencing inflammation in the heel. When he went to the bench on Sunday, a trainer bundled his right ankle in a large wrap as a precautionary measure.

Green is still on a minutes restriction and played only 23 minutes against the Magic. He will sit out Monday’s game in Atlanta before heading to Michigan State for his jersey retirement ceremony Tuesday night.
