Warriors center Damian Jones’ brief professional career has been marked by setbacks.

A week before the 2016 NBA draft, Jones tore his right pectoral muscle, limiting him to 10 games in his rookie season. Over his first two seasons, he has played only 21 of a possible 164 regular-season games. Still, the Vanderbilt product’s combination of athleticism and youth enticed the Warriors to pick up his option for next season.

Now, after playing for much of the season in the G League, the second-year center is looking to show he’s the Warriors’ center of the future.
