Warriors, Barnes table contract extension talks

Warriors general manager Bob Myers said Tuesday that the team and forward Harrison Barnes have tabled negotiations on a contract extension until after the season.

The two sides officially faced a Monday, Nov. 2 deadline to reach an agreement, but Barnes didn’t want talks to stretch into the regular season. The Warriors begin their season Tuesday night against New Orleans.

Myers remains confident the Warriors can retain Barnes next summer, when he is set to become a restricted free agent. Golden State will have the right to match any offer Barnes receives from another NBA team.
