Warriors announce Klay Thompson will be out for rest of season

The Warriors have officially ruled out guard Klay Thompson for the remainder of the season, the team announced.

Thompson, who suffered a torn ACL in Game 6 of last June’s NBA Finals, has not played this season and was re-evaluated over the All-Star break.

According to the team, Thompson is “making good progress and is right on track with his rehabilitation timeline.” He is expected back in time for the Warriors’ training camp in late September.

Earlier this week, head coach Steve Kerr said he is not planning on Thompson playing this season.
