One of the longest-tenured beat writers covering the Golden State Warriors is reportedly changing jobs and heading to ESPN.
According to Front Office Sports, the Athletic’s Anthony Slater is set to leave the Athletic and join ESPN later this summer, where he will still primarily cover the Warriors but will also contribute to national NBA coverage.
It’s similar to his current role at the Athletic, where Slater has been the primary Warriors reporter but has covered other NBA teams and storylines if the Dubs aren’t playing. Slater has also become an increasingly visible presence on video podcasts and television as a frequent guest for NBA TV and will likely be seen quite often on ESPN’s airwaves — like the network’s other NBA reporters are.
