OAKLAND — Longtime Warriors PR director Raymond Ridder looked around the locker room to an unfamiliar sight before a recent home game: Blue uniforms — traditionally reserved for road games — hanging from each stall.
Checking his notes, Ridder blurted out, “We’re not going to wear our home whites for the rest of the calendar year.”
This season, the Warriors are slated to wear six different uniforms over 82 games, with jersey options centered around holidays, special game night events and odes to Oakland and the Bay Area at large. Starting in 2017, the NBA – as part of a deal with Nike – eliminated “home” and “away” jersey declarations.
