Much has been said and written about the Golden State Warriors’ ambitious “two timelines” plan, an effort to win now with a proven, champions-four-times-over core, and to win later behind a lottery-pick-laden core of youngsters. That plan looked to be on pace for improbable success after a title last season and a core group of high-potential youngsters getting elevated to more important bench roles this season. It looked to be on life support after a rough stretch of basketball, particularly from said bench and said youngsters, to start the season. But just like a black hole warps the space-time continuum and mathematics breaks down at singularities, the Warriors have a singularity of their own wreaking havoc on their two timeline plans.
