There’s a thin line between patience and procrastination, and if it wasn’t already, it’s obvious now that the Lakers are just putting off the inevitable.
The Lakers’ ridiculous scheme for this season was, apparently, to either make it work with Russell Westbrook or find a trade that allowed the team to retain one of its few first-round picks this decade. There were a lot of leaks to the requisite reporters about Rob Pelinka, the VP of basketball operations who put this godforsaken roster together (and last year’s too), being “patient” and willing to ride with this crew until at least Thanksgiving.
