The final day of the 2022-23 season was one for the niche history books. Lots of whimsical and miserable stuff! Jaden McDaniels breaking his hand after punching a wall, the original COVID-19 truther Rudy Gobert smacking a teammate, Clipper on Clipper crime courtesy of Mason Plumlee and Bones Hyland, and your Golden State Warriors scoring an NBA-record 55 points in the first quarter against the Portland Trail Blazers JV team. Golden State’s ensuing 56-point victory secured them the sixth seed in the West’s playoff bracket, avoiding the unpredictability of the play-in tournament and setting up a first round match-up with the Sacramento Kings, whose resurgence this season seems to be mostly related to the laser space-cannon Bat-Signal type thing that lights up Sactown’s sky with an inspirational purple beam of light after each win.
The Kings have incredibly good vibes. Time for the Warriors to eat them alive.
