When you win 9 out of every 10 games, there aren’t many opportunities to be reminded of your weaknesses and faults. On Saturday night, the Spurs not only beat the Warriors, but also gave them their first real lesson in a long time on what they need to do to become an even better team. This wasn’t a loss due to fatigue, injuries, calls or distractions. The Spurs executed a game plan that took away the Warriors’ fundamental strengths. San Antonio denied the Warriors open outside shots (37.7% from the field, 25% from three), and abused their lack of size in the interior (53-37 overall; 14-7 on offensive boards).
