The Definition of Insanity (Warriors 94, Rockets 98)

The definition of insanity is commonly given as doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. For the Golden State Warriors, a similar definition of insanity has manifested itself in the team’s approach to basketball over the last five quarters, spanning the end of Game 4 and much of Game 5. Steve Kerr’s vaunted motion-based offense has turned into stop-motion animation, with far too many possessions starting and ending with a toss to Kevin Durant in the high post, followed by 23.5 seconds of inaction and a rushed shot. The Dubs’ turnover woes, commonly attributed to focus issues throughout the regular season, are now an incurable epidemic, with 18 of them leading to 18 Houston points.
