Stiff back keeps Warriors’ Klay Thompson out against Brooklyn

Klay Thompson didn’t play Saturday night against Brooklyn because of the back stiffness that has bothered the Warriors’ shooting guard intermittently this season.

“He was a little stiff in shootaround this morning,” interim head coach Luke Walton said about two hours before the game. “He was getting some treatment. We were going to see if it would loosen up throughout the day, and they just told me ‘It hasn’t.’”

Thompson started slowly this season because of a balky back, which he said initially stiffened up Oct. 30 at Houston and really bothered him during the next two games.
