OAKLAND – Steve Kerr participated in the March For Our Lives in Oakland on Sunday alongside his family. The issue of gun control is personal for Kerr, whose father, Malcolm, an American academic, was a victim of gun violence in Beirut in 1984.
Kerr has been an outspoken critic of President Donald Trump and a big proponent of stricter gun laws. He recently was part of a town hall discussion on gun violence with U.S. Rep. Ro Khanna at Newark Memorial High School, urging children to make their voices heard.
