Stephen Curry scores 40, Golden State Warriors beat Portland Trail Blazers in OT for 3-1 series lead

PORTLAND, Ore. -- The MVP wasn't in peak form early. He got off to one of the worst 3-point shooting starts of his career. It had been nearly four weeks since he last played a whole basketball game.

Then overtime provided a canvas for Stephen Curry to paint a picture, one that showed why he is the game's best player.Curry came off the bench to score 17 of his 40 points in the extra period, as the Warriors pulled out a 132-125 win Monday in Game 4 of the Western Conference semifinals against the Portland Trail Blazers.The Warriors took a 3-1 lead in the series and can close out the series with a win in Game 5 on Wednesday in Oakland, where Curry is soon expected to be crowned the MVP for a second straight season.
