A flag-raising ceremony to celebrate the start of the Golden State Warriors’ NBA playoff run was perhaps not the lucky harbinger fans are looking for.
On Friday, San Francisco Mayor London Breed was joined by former Warriors star Adonal Foyle for a brief ceremony at City Hall. As they extended a bright blue-and-gold Warriors flag from the building, a few cameras caught a very, very sad pan to a handful of apathetic passersby on the street below. Most appeared to be just going along with their day, while a few looked up, perhaps surprised by Breed’s enthusiastic shouting.
