OAKLAND — Houston Rockets guard James Harden will miss Saturday’s game against the Golden State Warriors at Oracle Arena because of both a cervical strain and flu-like symptoms.
Rockets coach Mike D’Antoni did not consider Harden’s serious and noted that his injury happened during a recent practice. But it was at least serious enough to sit their star player in a marquee game against the Warriors.
Harden made a go-ahead game winner from deep in the Warriors’ 135-134 overtime loss to Houston last month.
“He got hit and woke up the next day and it was sore,” D’Antoni said.
