The Golden State Warriors hung another banner on Tuesday night, their fourth in the last eight seasons and their seventh overall in franchise history. Ring night is always emotional, but this one was I think a little extra special. How else can you describe the elation that the team felt and publicly described, having been left for dead after Kevin Durant’s departure, a frankly absurd run of injuries that led to each of the core three missing significant time, and a middling play-in run in 2021? Many players, after offering up the platitude that all rings are special, publicly admitted that this one was extra special.
