Warriors to replace Walton with Brown
As expected, the Warriors completed a deal to hire Mike Brown as the team's top assistant coach, league sources told The Vertical.Brown will replace Luke Walton on the Warriors' bench. Brown was among a handful of candidates for the assistant coach position made available when Walton agreed in April to become the head coach of the Lakers next season.Brown, 46, has been an NBA head coach three times -- twice with the Cleveland Cavaliers and once with the Los Angeles Lakers. He was NBA Coach of the Year in 2009, when the Cavaliers reached the Eastern Conference finals before falling to the Orlando Magic.
