Report: Warriors' Kenny Atkinson Agrees to 4-Year Contract as Hornets' New Head Coach

The Charlotte Hornets have reportedly agreed to a four-year deal with Golden State Warriors assistant Kenny Atkinson to be their new head coach, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Atkinson met with Charlotte Hornets officials — including owner Michael Jordan — on Wednesday and the franchise has decided on the former Nets coach as its new head coach, sources said. The Athletic's Charania and Sam Amick reported on June 3 that Atkinson had "emerged as a front-runner" for the position and had a scheduled meeting with team officials, including owner Michael Jordan.
