Marcus Thompson II of The Athletic reported Friday that Golden State Warriors guard Jordan Poole has been described as brash, outspoken and confident, but sources added that "[Draymond Green's] actions weren't justified by any words Poole uttered or the momentum of intensity."
Warriors superstar Stephen Curry and head coach Steve Kerr downplayed the notion Poole's attitude was a factor in the situation.
Golden State general manager Bob Myers said Thursday that Green apologized and the situation would be handled in-house.
"These things happen. Nobody likes it, we don't condone it, but it happens," Myers told reporters.
