Poll: Keeping Raiders, A's and Warriors low priority for Oakland voters

OAKLAND -- What would excite Oakland residents more than a new A's ballpark and Raiders football stadium rising from the ashes of the O.Co Coliseum? Just about anything, according to a new poll.

Keeping Oakland's sports teams ranked lowest among 16 issues facing Oakland voters in the poll released Friday by the Oakland Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce. Only 56 percent of respondents said keeping the Raiders was important. The Warriors finished slightly better with 62 percent, while 64 percent of respondents said it was important to keep the Raiders. While those figures aren't too shabby they paled in comparison to improving schools, reducing crime and creating good paying jobs, all of which polled above 90 percent.
