On this date, April 13: Warriors break NBA’s unbreakable record

Four long years ago tonight the Warriors went where no team was ever supposed to go — they vaulted over the Jumpman and landed by themselves in the NBA record book.

By beating Memphis in their 2015-16 regular season finale, the Warriors surpassed Michael Jordan’s Bulls with their NBA record 73rd victory.

Warriors coach Steve Kerr, who was Jordan’s teammate and a backup guard on that Bulls’ 72-win team, admitted to his players, “I never in a million years would have guessed that record would ever be broken.”

Even now, just thinking about their remarkable achievement leads not only to wonderment, but some obvious questions:
