NBA Hall of Fame: How Stephen Curry became ‘Steve Nash on steroids’

The small and skinny point guard dazzled the spectators around him. He made shots seemingly from any distance. He showed off his handles. He played with infectious joy.

The setting: Stephen Curry competed in front of Steve Kerr and Bruce Fraser, and this took place well before the Warriors’ star (Curry), his head coach (Kerr) and trusted assistant (Fraser) formed a partnership for the past four seasons. In 2007, Curry played as a sophomore for Davidson against UCLA in the Wooden Classic. Kerr (the former Phoenix Suns general manager) and Fraser (Kerr’s close friend and former Suns scout) attended the game in Anaheim to scout Curry.
