Former ABC 7 sports anchor Mike Shumann released a statement Friday morning explaining his side of the alleged theft of a jacket belonging to a Warriors team official, a bizarre incident that cost Shumann his job.
“In April I was accused of taking a sweatshirt that was left from a Warriors morning practice session in San Antonio,” Shumann wrote. “After the team had gone I noticed someone had left their warm-up sweatshirt. I picked it up with the purpose of getting it back to its rightful owner. No intent!”
The rightful owner was Warriors security employee Ralph Walker (who has since left the team).
