Matt Barnes: ‘We Believe’ Warriors celebrated Dallas upset with copious weed at Nellie’s place

Now it can be told. The question is, are you ready to hear it?

The year was 2007. The woebegone Warriors, in the first season of coach Don Nelson’s second tour of duty with Golden State, actually manned up and reached the postseason for the first time in 13 years.

The catchphrase that year was “We Believe” — mainly because the marketing folks balked at putting “Do you believe this (expletive)?” on a T-Shirt.

Not only did the Warriors reach the postseason, they defeated the Dallas Mavericks, who compiled an NBA-best 67 wins during the regular season.
