The Golden State Warriors will play their first game at the new Chase Center against a familiar foe.
LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers will serve as the opposition for the Oct. 5 preseason game, the Warriors announced Friday.
It’s only fitting that James — who battled the Warriors in each of the last four NBA Finals series as a member of the Cleveland Cavaliers — would be a part of the opening ceremonies. After all, he’s been such a big part of the Warriors’ story in recent years.
And the Dubs have the banners to prove it.
