OAKLAND — Sunday night wasn’t officially goodbye.

No, the Warriors will play two more home games at Oracle Arena next weekend to open the 2019 NBA Playoffs, and the well-held expectation is that there will be a handful more contests in Oakland, as the team aims to win its fourth title in five years in the weeks to come.

Truthfully, no one can say when the final Warriors game at Oracle Arena will take place. That’s the nature of the playoffs.

So for Sunday’s final regular-season home game — the last known date on the schedule — the Warriors wanted to celebrate its residence for the past 47 years with one big surprise.
