Kurtenbach: The Warriors need Klay Thompson to bounce back to beat the Spurs

OAKLAND — There’s a purity to Klay Thompson’s game.

The Warriors’ shooting guard has perhaps the purest jump shot in the history of the sport — it’s textbook — but his simple, no-nonsense attitude towards the life and the game is just as laudable.

“If I could do it all over again, I would be Klay,” Warriors coach Steve Kerr said in September. “I want to be Klay. He’s got it figured out. He just wants to play hoop and have fun, play with his dog. He’s the most low-maintenance guy on earth.”

Call it what you want — low-maintenance, laid-back, chill, zen — Kerr’s right; Thompson operates on a different level than any other athlete (scratch that — person) I’ve ever met.
