Golden State Warriors fans hoping to retain Klay Thompson this offseason may have just been dealt a blow: The Athletic reports that there have been “no production discussions” between Thompson and the Warriors.
Saturday’s report, which cited anonymous league sources, said no offer has been put on the table for the 34-year-old. “Talks are essentially frozen,” The Athletic reported. “With free agency now less than 10 days away, Thompson’s exit from the only franchise he has ever known feels closer and more probable than ever before.”
Thompson, who was drafted by Golden State in 2011, could sign with a new team as soon as July 6.
