SALT LAKE CITY — Seconds after the final buzzer of the Warriors loss to the Utah Jazz Friday, Vivint Smart Home Arena was evacuated due to a suspicious package found by local officials in a nearby building.
At approximately 9:30 pm MT, SLCPD found a suspicious shoe box under a table at a nearby restaurant. With the building evacuated, officials deployed a bomb squad and K-9 unit, which indicated that the package was a threat. Officials then ordered the evacuation of the arena and neighboring buildings and began working to render the package in question safe.
