OAKLAND — So you got up early and claimed a spot in Old Oakland at the beginning of the Golden State Warriors parade route. The procession passes by and city officials have warned you not to try and fight your way through the crowds to the rally near Lake Merritt.
Now what? Before you hop back on BART, hail a cab or call for a ride share, a few restaurants and watering holes are beckoning, laying out the welcome mat a short walk away from the route.
The proprietors of Cafe Van Kleef learned their lesson after failing to open early or stock up on goods for the 2015 championship parade.
