In a last-second move to keep their franchise in championship contention, the Golden State Warriors traded Andre Iguodala to the Memphis Grizzlies. This opened up just enough cap space for the Dubs to complete a sign-and-trade that brought in the 23-year old All-Star, D’Angelo Russell.
This move was necessary. With Kevin Durant on his way out, the Warriors needed to add some talent or face the end of an era. Seeing as how Iggy is far from his prime, it only made sense that trading him to ensure a better future for the Warriors was the best option.
