While many are already counting the Golden State Warriors out of Finals contention, Stephen Curry, D’Angelo Russell, Draymond Green and Klay Thompson will have something to say about that. Sadly, we can no longer add Kevin Durant to that list.
It’s just the way of the crazy NBA offseason. The Warriors saw Durant walk while adding Russell in a transaction that eventually forced the Warriors hand when it came to Andre Iguodala. Caught in the crossfire, Iggy was dealt to bring in the necessary cap space for Russell.
However, it probably wasn’t a difficult decision for the Warriors front office.
