The Golden State Warriors made an unexpected late July trade on Friday afternoon, sending Gerald Wallace to the Philadelphia 76ers along with draft/cash considerations for Jason Thompson.
Thompson, 29, is a seven-year veteran who has spent his career with the Sacramento Kings. He was traded to the 76ers this offseason in an effort to create salary cap space.
The 6’11”, 250-pound forward averaged 6.1 points and 6.5 rebounds last season for the Kings. His career averages total 9.4 points, 6.9 rebounds and 1.1 assists. He has appeared in at least 75 games for six of his seven years in the NBA, starting at least half of his team’s games each year.
