Former Golden State Warriors’ No. 1 draft pick Joe Smith reportedly has lost nearly all of the $60 million he earned over his 16-year NBA career. But he’s getting help from baseball star Alex Rodriguez.
The relationship between the two ex-athletes is the basis of a new cable TV reality special called “Back in the Game.” The show will premiere at 10 p.m. March 13 on CNBC, it was announced today.
The hourlong special, executive produced by Michael Strahan, follows Rodriguez as he steps in to help Smith regain financial balance. According to a CNBC media release, “Back in the Game” pairs Rodriguez — now a mentor to athletes — with Smith.
