Draymond Green's punch forces the Warriors to choose the past or the future

Most of us longtime Warriors fans love Draymond Green. He’s an incredible talent, and the team doesn’t win any of those championships without him. But his role as a leader has felt wobbly of late. He had a damningly slow start to last season. He’s never been the most fearsome offensive force. He has preternatural defensive instincts, but sometimes his influence is undermined by what he lacks in even-keeled leadership and maturity. This year felt like it would be a test of how he fits as a veteran on this iteration of the team, with the young guard of Jordan Poole and Andrew Wiggins ready to break through.
