Coaching Edge: Mike Brown’s best move of Game 3 (trusting Curry with three fouls)

SAN ANTONIO–Most coaches would’ve pulled Stephen Curry with 8:23 left in the second quarter of Game 3 on Saturday, even though they wouldn’t have wanted to.

The score at the time: Spurs 41 Warriors 37. AT&T Center wide awake and rumbling. The Spurs certainly aware that their sustainability in the Western Conference finals depended on at least one victory here.

But the on-court situation: Curry picked up his third foul while reaching for the ball guarding Danny Green, with so much time to go in the first half, which is when 90% of NBA coaches would’ve taken Curry out to make sure he didn’t get Foul #4 any time soon.
