Chasson Randle relieved to sign with Warriors after coronavirus scare in China

DENVER — For three days, Chasson Randle did not dare leave his apartment. It wasn’t worth the risk. Afterall, the longer he watched the local Chinese news station, the more deaths caused by the coronavirus were reported.

“By the hour, the numbers were increasing with more people being affected and those that were dying,” Randle said. “I was just trying to survive when I was over there.”

On Tuesday, Randle signed a 10-day contract with the Warriors, concluding a complicated process for the former Stanford guard to return stateside. Though he has been back from China for nearly a month, he arrives at a time when the NBA is growing increasingly concerned with the coronavirus outbreak.
