Cavaliers' Shumpert to miss at least three months (AFP)

Cleveland (AFP) - Iman Shumpert, whose January arrival helped propel the Cleveland Cavaliers into the NBA Finals, will miss 12 to 14 weeks with a right wrist injury, the team announced Tuesday.

The 25-year-old shooting guard underwent an MRI Monday that disclosed the extent of Shumpert's injury as the Cavaliers opened their pre-season training camp.

Doctors will perform surgery Wednesday to repair a ruptured Extensor Carpi Ulnaris sheath in his right wrist.

Shumpert would not be back until Christmas at the earliest or until after New Year's Day at the worst case scenario.
