Can the Warriors play even better in Game 2? ‘That’s a scary thing,’ says Rick Barry

OAKLAND — Like moths to a flaming hot shooter, a pair of Warriors all-time greats floated toward Kevin Durant’s locker after Game 1.

Rick Barry and Clifford Ray, two key players from the ’75 champs, laughed with the Warriors forward as they marveled over his 38-point, 0-turnover night against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

And as Barry walked away, he offered an impassioned defense of the NBA Final’s most controversial figure.

It was about the only defense surrounding Durant all night.

“He had a hell of a game. I hope he has a few more,” Barry told the Bay Area News Group.
