It wasn’t too long ago that the Miami Heat greatly resembled the current Golden State Warriors. With a star-studded cast featuring NBA supervillain and public enemy number one LeBron James, alongside fellow superstars Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh, the Heat were absolutely hated. Every errant pass and every missed shot was jeered at, every passing comment and change in body language overanalyzed, every loss trumpeted as a disaster; and when the Heat succumbed to a more cohesive Dallas Mavericks squad in the NBA Finals, it was hailed across the country (except for South Beach) as the “right” result, the triumph of the little guys over the dreaded Goliath.
