The Warriors agreed to a contract extension with Klay Thompson last October, hours before the deadline.

That won't happen this year with Harrison Barnes.

The two sides will no longer attempt to work out a long-term deal, general manager Bob Myers announced late Tuesday morning.

Barnes will become a restricted free agent next July.

If he signs an offer sheet with another team, the Warriors will have 72 hours to either match, or let him walk.
