Ayesha Curry, cookbook author and wife of Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry, invited Clemson University's football team to her restaurant for a "real feast and celebration" after the team was served McDonald's, Burger King and Wendy's on Monday night at the White House.
Citing the government shutdown and the furloughing of White House chefs, President Donald Trump decided to bring in a wide selection of burgers and french fries for the national champions.
The meal was ridiculed on social media and by television hosts, and one Twitter user joked the Warriors made the right call in not visiting the White House after their last two NBA Finals wins.
