Alameda deputy sues Toronto Raptors exec Masai Ujiri

An Alameda County sheriff’s deputy is suing Toronto Raptors President Masai Ujuiri, saying the basketball executive “hit him in the face and chest with both fists” while he tried to check Ujiri’s credentials after the Raptors won the NBA Championship title last year.

Deputy Alan Strickland has suffered “physical, mental, emotional and economic” injuries as a result of the June 13 confrontation at Oracle Arena, where Strickland and other deputies provided security for Game 6 of the NBA Finals, according to the federal lawsuit filed Friday.
