At first glance, Friday’s announcement of a new Dubs mascot sounded as if the Warriors had finally gotten back into the world of make-believe characters.
But, alas, this mascot has literally gone to the dogs.
It’s the University of Washington’s Huskies that gets a new mascot, as the school introduced a cuddly malamute — named Dubs, or Dubs II or Puppy Dubs, take your pick of the litter — as the school’s new mascot.
Happy National Puppy Day, indeed.
