Warriors beat Thunder at buzzer

If you didn’t watch the Warriors-Thunder game on Thursday night, you missed one of the best games of the season so far.

The Warriors took on Oklahoma City Thursday night in Oakland, and won an absolute thriller 115-116. The entire game was close, and both teams are playing at an elite level right now, which made it even more interesting to watch.

Although the entire game was well-played, the real highlight happened in the last seconds of the fourth quarter. The Warriors were up throughout the third quarter, and blew a 14-point fourth-quarter lead. Russell Westbrook had been shooting exceptionally throughout the entire game—he finished with 31 points on 13-of-20 shooting.

With under three seconds left in the fourth and the Warriors up by two, Westbrook nailed a pull-up 29-footer that would have given the Warriors their first home game loss—if it weren’t for Andre Iguodala.

With 2.3 seconds left in the game, Klay Thompson inbounded the ball to “Iggy”. As every fan watching held their breath, Iguodala sank the buzzer-beater to send Oracle Arena into delirium.

The game was consistently close—except for the third quarter—and both teams were making their shots; however, Golden State’s defense was below their usual standard. David Lee got his first rebound in the middle of the third quarter, and ended the game with four—he averages 9.4 per game.

The Warriors had a few defensive lapses, and they allowed OKC to shoot 55 percent. Golden State’s offense is what kept them in the game, and they managed to be tied at 62 at the half.

The Warriors, as usual, had an outstanding shooting night. Curry and Thompson combined for seven threes in the first two quarters of the game. The “Splash Brothers” shot 59% during Thursday's game.

Once again, Harrison Barnes proved that he’s a superstar in the making. Barnes had 16 points in 23 minutes coming off of the bench, and he’s being touted as a potential sixth man of the year candidate.

The Warriors played a phenomenal game Thursday, and have Friday off before facing the Utah Jazz on Saturday. Let’s hope that Thursday’s game was a preview for a Golden State-OKC playoff series, because this game was just incredibly fun to watch.
