Warriors News: Stephen Curry believes Warriors are close to a championship

In today's Warriors news update, despite all the upheaval on the team's coaching staff during the offseason so far, the Golden State Warriors believe that they are very close to where the San Antonio Spurs are this year - standing atop the mountain as NBA champions.

Per Jonathan Jones of the Charlotte Observer, Warriors guard Stephen Curry believes that the time is now for Golden State to grab the proverbial brass ring.

"We have a pretty legit window to be a championship-caliber team and make those strides,” Curry said on Monday.

Despite the well-documented shock that Curry experienced over the firing of beloved-by-the-players head coach Mark Jackson, Curry has spoken with new head coach Steve Kerr on several occasion since his hiring - and Curry believes that Kerr will do everything in his power to bring the team to the next level.

“Coach Kerr and our front office, I know they’re committed to winning and putting a product out there that they feel like is ready to be where the Spurs are right now,” Curry stated.

Curry set career marks in points (24) and assists (8.5) per game in 2013-14, along with making his first NBA All-Star team.
